Become a key member of our OpenShift team and focus on standardization of containers, including working around Red Hat Container Catalog, Kubernetes, and OpenShift environment. The Red Hat OpenShift team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to enhance our container management strategy to join us in Boston, MA. In this role, you will be part of the OpenShift team that is about passion for technology and development, balanced with the responsibility of running a hosted service and supporting a solution. We are building a team and service that will change how development is done, using the strength of Red Hat technologies and services hosted in the cloud. You'll need to be able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes chaotic environment, with the goal of making our end users and customers more effective with every release.
Act as a Red Hat Container Catalog and OpenShift expert on all things in this space, from helping decide the most effective frameworks to focus on, to integrating the right ecosystem of modules needed to complete the developer experienceInteract with multiple teams within Red Hat as well as with the open source communityUse your excellent communication skills to communicate with other OpenShift engineers, product managers, and management across the globeBe an engineering contributor to Red Hat Container Catalog and OpenShift to deliver the functionality needed, from the requirement decisions that you help understand and prioritizeWork in a fast-paced environmentCommunicate with end users through IRC, forums, and emailMaster's degree in computer science or equivalent experienceExcellent written and verbal English communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to directly interact with customersAbility to learn new things quickly and work with the following technologies on a day-to-day basis: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Fedora, working with technologies like cgroups and SELinux Everything Containers and Kubernetes relatedFamiliarity with many of these, and expert-level skills in one of the following technologies: Upstream communities Ruby and Bash scripting GoFamiliarity with OpenShift by Red Hat is an advantage
