Senior Frontend Engineer (m/w/d)
This job offer is expired
You get to be part of our customer self-service platform team, which means you focus, together with your colleagues, on improving the user experience and the insurance advice process of our online customers, both from a product as well as from a technical point of view. Your cross-functional team is currently comprised of 7 more colleagues: product owner, product manager, UX designer and engineers.
You will work on all customer touchpoints: from the landing pages, where we currently move to a headless CMS (Contentful with Gatsby) and a new design, through our advisor app which we currently rewrite with React, to the emails we send to our customer, which we also rewrite with MJML-React. All these React-apps have one thing in common: our design system and its reusable components, which you will also further co-develop. To avoid needing to wait on other teams, you will also do all changes in the backend which are necessary for your feature.
You will decide - together with the team - on the future technologies we shall use. Currently, we are working on introducing Next.js to enable server-side rendering in our advisor app.
Sharing your knowledge - with both our junior and senior engineers - is also part of the job description, as we would like to further improve our learning culture. You can do this both in dedicated environments - like our internal blog or our fortnightly internal tech talks - as well as, of course, also in your day-to-day work.
What we expect from you
You should have a couple of years of experience with React and enjoy working with it, as well as be an expert in CSS.
As we constantly improve our code quality, we would like you to have similar values as ours and have the same understanding of “good code”. Experience with testing frameworks is crucial (we use jest, react-testing-library and cypress).
Previous experience with GraphQL will also be very welcome, as we will rely on it more and more in the future.
You should have product-oriented, user-centred thinking, and the drive to build something great
Continuously learning, as well as staying-up-to-date with the latest tech, are both things we value in our current and future engineers.
Ideally, you have basic knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS, as we rely on both for managing our deployments.
Last but not least, we really enjoy evolving as a team, learning to interact with and support each other. Having the same mind-set as we do is very important to us, but this is something both you and we can only determine after meeting each other. So if you think we might be a good fit, don’t hesitate and apply now!
